Day 213 - Gold Coast Sunrise

Went to the Gold Coast today to begin a week of work in the sun, surf and sand.  Starting out with a nice sunrise early in the morning.  I was actually trying for another image but it didn't work out but I hope to try it again shortly.

Technical:
Canon 7d camera
Stitched Image

  1. A sunrise is always a beautiful subject ... I don't get to see many (and when I say 'many' I mean 'any') so I appreciate when someone captures them for me to enjoy.

  2. This image provides a different perspective of a Gold Coast sunrise because it downplays the high rise buildings and emphasizes the power of nature. It reminds me that the Gold Coast is a bustling city against the wide expanse of Pacific Ocean. The moment a sunrise is captured determines the extent of detail in the image. I wonder if a few seconds later might have added more detail and a warm glow to the image. The image follows the rule of thirds which always pleases the eye. I like the way the sun is used to balance the buildings at right, leading the viewer from left to right which is a natural movement of our eyes.
