Day 255 - Chronicles of Change

Construction of the new Chronicle building has been heating up so I though I would capture a stage of construction and try to revisit the site again at a future date.  You really notice in this image how the plastic lens blurs off at the edges.  Helps to focus the attention on the centre of the image.  Not always the best for composition however.

  1. Using the camera to chronicle events is an excellent use of photography, after all a picture tells a thousand words. Great idea to revisit the construction site later as well. The composition has a skeletal look to it which suits the stage in the construction process. Use of the Recesky provides a change from the technology of a serious DSLR, allowing both photographer and viewer to interpret the picture without dwelling on issues like lens blur at the edges. I am frequently surprised that people accept a poorly exposed image as being a great photo and i think there is a lesson there which is about the importance of capturing the shot, above what you use to do so. If the final image is less than DSLR-perfect but tells the story, then it is a great shot. And finally, have ordered a Recesky from eBay.
